Torrelodones is a pretty town in the autonomous community of Madrid, located some 29 kilometres to the northwest. It lies between the metropolitan area and the Sierra de Guadarrama mountain range. The surrounding villages are Hoyo de Manzanares, Galapagar and the municipality of Las Rozas, where the Barrio de las Matas is also located. It has a total population of almost 23,000 people, spread over the different urbanisations and areas.

The per capita income of the inhabitants of this town is one of the highest in the Community of Madrid, and the services that have most proliferated in this town are the hotel and catering industry, with small local restaurants full of charm and privacy and bars with different atmospheres to suit all tastes, as well as construction, something easy to observe just by taking a stroll through the streets. You can see the great variety of housing that exists in the town, from spacious flats of no more than three floors (due to environmental legislation) located in the centre of the village, to large detached houses, some built at the beginning of the 20th century, and exclusive designer villas in some urbanisations such as Las Marías or Los Robles. Its location between the Sierra de Guadarrama and El Pardo, with enough height to enjoy the views of the capital, make it a unique destination to live or spend weekends surrounded by nature.
