Description
In the heart of the Périgord Vert, in the north of the Dordogne and a few kilometres from Brantôme, this fantastic medieval château, built between the Renaissance and the 17th century on medieval remains, has been magnificently renovated in 2019. Located near an ancient Roman road, in a quiet area, in the countryside, the château offers high quality services to offer a refined and authentic stay in an exceptional setting. It consists of a total of 11 rooms able to accommodate up to 22 people and distributed in 3 buildings: Le Grand Logis, Le Petit Logis and La Tour Carrée. The rooms at Le Grand Logis have different characteristics.
Rooms 1, 2, 3 and 4 are on the first floor and overlook the garden. Each room has a 180 cm double bed that can be converted into twin beds, a private bathroom with two washbasins, bathtub, walk-in shower and separate WC cubicle.
Room 5, also in Le Grand Logis but on the first floor, overlooks the garden and has a 180cm double bed that can be converted into twin beds. Private bathroom with shower, separate WC and also includes a sitting area.
At Le Petit Logis, rooms 6 and 7 on the first floor, overlooking the garden, have a 180cm double bed configurable into twin beds, shared en suite bathroom with 2 washbasins, walk-in shower and separate WC.
Room 8, 9 on the first floor, has a double bed, en-suite bathroom with twin sinks, walk-in shower and shared WC. In La Tour Carrée, rooms 10 and 11, on the first floor, have a double bed and private bathroom. In the Grand Logis, there are two very comfortable lounges on the ground floor, an elegant dining room connected to a spacious fully equipped kitchen and the five double bedrooms spread over the two floors, each with a private bathroom in light marble and toilet. One of the bedrooms, the beautiful bridal suite, is set at the top of a historic tower.
The interior decoration is elegant and modest, combining historical reminiscences with modern design pieces, always in soft tones and natural materials.
The small living room overlooking the rose garden and terrace has a three-seater sofa, two armchairs and a decorative fireplace. The dining room has a large table with seating for 14 people and through two double-glazed doors it allows direct access to the terrace or the inner courtyard. It also communicates with the kitchen where all the necessary crockery and cutlery can be found in a large wall cupboard. The kitchen is fully equipped and has Mareuil stone worktops and a central island with storage underneath. At the back of the kitchen there is a large refrigerator equipped with freezer drawers. Under the porch is the laundry room with washer-dryer and ironing set. Next to the kitchen, the large living room offers a perfect environment to relax on the sofa in front of the 19th century fireplace.
Le Petit Logis consists of a building suitable for receptions as it has two large and bright reception rooms (55m2 and 65m2), which are accessible via a monumental staircase. This guesthouse has all the necessary facilities to accommodate up to 120 guests, including people with disabilities and reduced mobility. A guesthouse in a neighbouring building, which is optional to book, has 4 bedrooms to accommodate up to 8 guests.
The La Tour Carrée building houses two superb en-suite bedrooms to increase the château’s reception capacity and, as they are independent, they can be accessed directly from the outside via the terrace or porch to ensure privacy. The reservation of this building is also optional.
Outside the buildings, there is a private heated swimming pool located at the top of the garden, overlooking the surrounding nature, designed for moments of perfect relaxation. It measures 10 m x 5 m and has a depth of 1.50 m with a flat bottom and a safety curtain.
The private garden measures almost one hectare and is remarkable for its diversity of spaces, such as the rose garden, the aroma walk or the esplanades where you can spend time discovering the best that the Périgord Vert has to offer, the luxury of space.
There is also a barbecue, deckchairs and solarium, outdoor seating areas and 5 bicycles and a ping pong table are available for guests to use. There is ample private parking on the property.
