Description
This palace built in 1600 is a place to enjoy authentic village life in minimalist and welcoming spaces that bear the unmistakable stamp of British architect Andrew Trotter. Co-designed by Marcelo Martínez, it has been restored preserving the historic character of the house with beautiful baroque details and interiors with arches and vaulted ceilings.
It is located in the city of Salento, in the province of Lecce, belonging to the region of Apulia, the Tuscany of southern Italy, in the heart of the Salentine Greece, a place full of legends and mysteries. With just 6,000 inhabitants, it is ideal to enjoy cycling among olive trees and to visit charming villages such as Alberobello, inscribed on Unesco’s World Heritage List for its picturesque buildings dating back to prehistoric times.
A courtyard welcomes guests who can sit down to breakfast and dinner in the shade and from there you enter the main living room and a fully equipped kitchen and then pass a multimedia room, where a former chapel used to be. This space with a 4m sofa can be converted into two single beds for two additional guests, as it has a dressing table and outdoor shower. In connection with the living room, the dining room has a toilet and the garden room has another 3 m sofa. Outside there is a garden with a 3 x 2 metres swimming pool.
From the entrance courtyard a staircase leads to the upper floor, where the so-called green room leads to a bedroom overlooking the street and the church with its own bathroom and dressing room. On the other side of the hall, the master bedroom has a terrace overlooking the garden and a large bathroom with an antique cast iron claw-foot bathtub.
The other large bedroom has a separate sitting room, with sofa that converts into a single bed ideal for a child, and en-suite bathroom.
The property sleeps a total of 6-9 people and has 250 m2 on two floors with 3-5 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms and two toilets.
There are two bedrooms with a queen size double bed, en-suite bathroom with shower and one of the bedrooms with a bathtub, a third bedroom for 3 people with two queen size beds and en-suite bathroom with shower, and a fourth double bedroom with two single beds, en-suite bathroom and shower outside the bedroom.
It has a private swimming pool and in the surrounding area there are many restaurants, bars, cultural activities and local attractions, as well as activities for the whole family to enjoy. Surfing, kite surfing and sailing are available 60 km away and massage services are available on request.
Services: daily and mid-week cleaning, welcome pack with food and wine, Wi-Fi, Smart TV, Netflix, heating, baby friendly, no pets allowed, no breakfast or meal service.
The nearest airport is 60 kilometres away and the train station is 200 metres away.
