Description
This house-palace, which houses within its walls the history of the place where it is located, one of the most beautiful white villages in the province of Cadiz, has been completely restored in 2021. The restoration process has been carried out with great respect and the result preserves details of its past, such as the carefully restored wrought iron balconies, balconies, doors, locks and railings that give personality to the whitewashed façade, not forgetting the medieval crenellated tower on the terrace, which is a real jewel.
Located on Vejer’s main street and close to the arch of Puerta Cerrada, the interior decoration is characterised by whitewashed walls mixed with the natural stone of the old walls that formed part of Vejer’s defensive wall and the beams with wooden coffered ceilings. Inside, the restored antique furniture coexists with new wooden furniture, iron canopies and handcrafted pieces of hand-painted fabric and ceramics from Lebrija, the latter displayed at the entrance to the accommodation for the enjoyment of guests on overhanging shelves made of masonry.
With capacity for 12 guests, distributed in 6 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and a toilet spread over three floors, each room has been decorated differently and has been named with the names of the winds: Poniente, Mistral, Levante, Cierzo, Ábrego… The Deluxe room has the best views and with free-standing bathtub has a private swimming pool. One of the rooms has an en-suite bathroom located in an old restored covacha. Another room has a private patio and shower in a cave under the old town wall. The property offers breakfast service and has two lounges.
Los Caños de Meca Beach is just 15 minutes’ drive away, and Bolonia Beach, with its dunes, pine trees and Roman ruins, is 35 minutes’ drive away.
Nearby you can go hiking or surfing and the hotel organises evenings on the roof terrace as well as fitness classes and concerts, among other activities.
