Description

At the foot of the Sierra de San Bartolomé, this more than 150 year old house is located on a stony hillside in the countryside of Tarifa, within the Natural Park of the Strait, and constitutes a true ecological refuge. Situated in the Betis area, it is a recently refurbished rural retreat that is equipped to a high standard and represents a country paradise with its strategic location in a quiet village. Just a stone’s throw from the best beaches of Tarifa, from which it is about 15 km to the west, it enjoys breathtaking views of the beaches of Valdevaqueros, Bolonia and the coast of Morocco on clear days.

It is set in an estate of 2,500 square metres on which stand three rustic buildings that make up the villa and which are rented separately, each with its own independent entrance. The original constructions have recently (2021) undergone a thorough interior refurbishment, respecting the natural environment in which they are located throughout the process. The thick walls and ceilings with exposed wooden beams have been preserved.

The larger villa sleeps up to 9 people in 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It has a cosy living room and fully equipped kitchen as well as a work area and free wifi throughout the property. The swimming pool with mountain views has a sunbathing area with wooden slatted decking.

A short drive from the beaches and Roman ruins of Tarifa, the house offers mountain views and a relaxing pool terrace for relaxing after hiking, climbing, trail running and horse riding. The Paloma Baja Dunes, a five-minute drive away, are a surprisingly steep stretch of dunes – about 100 metres – in a promontory area where Valdevaqueros Beach is located. Favoured by windsurfers, Valdevaqueros beach is one of Tarifa’s liveliest, with trendy tavernas and chiringuitos (beach bars). Situated on the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula, facing Morocco, Tarifa is famous for its wind sports, especially kitesurfing. Windsurfers and kitesurfers have transformed this Andalusian town into a cool surf town.

The nearest airport is Gibraltar (32 km), Tangier (50 km, by ferry). It is 10 minutes from Punta Paloma, 5 minutes by car from the dunes of Paloma Baja, 8 minutes from Valdevaqueros beach, 10 minutes from Los Lances beach and 12 minutes from the old town of Tarifa.

The minimum stay is 3 nights and the deposit is 2.000€.
