The estate is located in the vicinity of the Cabañeros National Park. The vegetation cover of Los Baños is typical of the Mediterranean forest area: holm oak, cork oak, gall oak, strawberry tree…etc.
There are some 16,000 cork oak trees from which cork is extracted, with 3,000 quintals of cork being harvested (about 140,000 kg). It has an area of 750 hectares. There are several areas of olive groves with a total of 6000 olive trees, of the cornicabra variety.
There are also two unirrigated meadows, sown with subterranean clover, ryegrass and fescue. There are also four irrigated meadows with underground installation:
- El Llano: with an area of 5 hectares.
- La Huerta: with an area of 5 hectares.
- El Olivar: 2 meadows with an area of 25 hectares.
The property is south facing in the porch area and has different areas from which you can enjoy the sun at any time of the day.
Magnificent opportunity to acquire a hunting estate with important arboreal and faunistic value, with possibilities of exploitation of olive groves and cork, in a unique enclave in which a large area of woodland is combined with plains, which makes possible the presence of mouflon, deer, fallow deer, wild boar and roe deer. It is catalogued as an intensive big game reserve, with the reserve number CR-10392. The intensive nature of this technical plan is for deer, fallow deer, mouflon, wild boar, pheasant and pigeon.
With regard to big game, a number of specimens may be released per hunting season:
- Deer 350 specimens (Commercial).
- Fallow deer 150 specimens (Commercial)
- Wild boar 300 specimens (Commercial).
- Roe deer 20 specimens (Improved hunting).
As for small game, the following may be released:
- Red-legged partridge 20,000 specimens (Commercial).
- Pheasant 5,000 specimens (Commercial).
- Mallard 800 specimens per season.
The entire perimeter of the estate (16,198 m) is fenced with hunting netting and with all the first and second order signs. The farm has elevated turrets for waiting. There is also a wooden Austrian feeding trough.
According to the last animal population census carried out, with the exception of wild boars, it is estimated at approximately:
– Hinds: 600, deer: 250, male mouflons: 120, female mouflons: 250, male fallow deer: 100, female fallow deer: 240, roe deer: 20 pairs.
The reserve holds the national record for wild boar in 1975, as well as the national records for mouflon in 1980 and 1981.It is worth mentioning the 11th century Arab bath, whose waters are especially indicated for the treatment of rheumatic diseases, arthrosis, arthritis, etc. The waters of the estate flow at an average temperature of between 19 and 23 ºC, all year round; water that is used both in the Arab Baths and in the estate’s swimming pool.
The property needs some updating in the main house. Also, some of the outbuildings already in disuse, could be rehabilitated so that the buildability can be increased considerably. At the moment it has heating by oil boiler, ACV of the year 2005 and an underground oil tank of 20.000 litres. The water supply to the house is provided by electric motor pumps from the property’s own boreholes. The electricity supply is taken from the junction of the national line three km. from the house, to reach a high voltage transformer, separate from the house, to enter the house at 220 v. The waste disposal is by a septic tank adapted to the regulations. Automatic watering system in the garden.
The profitability of the hunting estates lies in the possibilities of exploitation. Los Baños has an intensive big game preserve, with the preserve number CR-10392. The intensive nature of this technical plan is for deer, fallow deer, mouflon, wild boar, pheasant and pigeon, and small game can also be released. It would be possible to recover certain agricultural and livestock farming activities that were carried out in the past, such as olive groves, and cork is still being harvested today.
