Description
The original construction of this house dates back to 1860 and is located in the heart of the Extremadura countryside, surrounded by holm oaks and olive trees, on a 10,000 square metre estate, with privileged views of the Extremadura pastures. Of rural character, it offers extraordinary qualities and features and is equipped with every luxury of detail.
It is located in the area known as Sierra de los Lagares, belonging to the district of Pago de San Clemente, a few kilometres from Trujillo, Cáceres and Mérida. This is one of the most biodiverse areas in Europe, considered a natural paradise for birdwatchers, with the Monfragüe National Park as one of the favourite destinations for birdwatchers from both inside and outside Spain. It is also an ideal area to enjoy astro-tourism due to the scarce light pollution in this territory.
This rural house maintains its traditional charm and still conserves the groin vaults typical of the area. Distributed over three floors, its 380 square metres of interior space has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and capacity for 10 people (and their pets). Outside, surrounded by olive trees, holm oaks and various fruit trees, there is a private swimming pool, several relaxation areas and, for the more active, a mini-football pitch.
It has a distinguishing feature: most of the furniture is antique and in perfect condition. Meanwhile, the linen is 100% cotton and has microfibre duvets from Zara Home.
One of the bedrooms has a fireplace. Two of the bedrooms have two 90 x 190 cm beds and another one has two bunk beds and two extra beds, all with mattresses of the same size, so they can accommodate four to six people. The dining room has a table for 8 people, plus another extendable table for four people, located in the adjoining kitchen.
In the attic is the library, with two sitting areas, a card game area and a desk for working, equipped with Wifi and a mini-fridge with freezer.
Among the services offered, it has caretakers of the farm and has heating and air conditioning, Wifi and kitchen available to guests.
On request and at the guests’ expense, daily newspapers, daily bread, daily cleaning (except for weekly rentals, which include two cleanings), transfers and catering can be provided.
Also upon request and payment, a welcome basket is available: breakfast, bread, jam, butter, extra virgin olive oil from the farm, fruit and vegetables from our own garden or local orchards, free-range eggs if available, semi-skimmed milk, mineral water, La Chinata olive oil amenities for each guest (shampoo, gel, bar of soap, conditioner and moisturising cream). Drinks and welcome wine are not included. The minimum stay is two nights.
