Description

Oropesa is located between the Sierra de Gredos mountains and the Tagus river, in a wonderful natural setting. It is one of the most beautiful villages in Toledo. A markedly medieval town, with an impressive wealth of heritage in which historical buildings such as its imposing castle, the palace of the Counts of Oropesa, convents, churches and monuments such as the passageway stand out. A construction made up of arches. Legend has it that the passageway was built by Don Fernando Álvarez de Toledo to join the palace with the church, thus facilitating the arrival of his wife. The passageway gives its name to this fantastic property.

An old mansion with patio and swimming pool in the centre of Oropesa. Completely refurbished, including local materials such as ceramics, the impeccable interior design project stands out thanks to a warm decoration, with attention to the smallest detail and marked by the presence of antiques and works of art that are for sale.

The 300 m2 house is divided into 3 levels. A large open-plan space dominates the ground floor from the entrance to the courtyard. It consists of a living area with a cooker, an open kitchen with a bar and a dining table for 8 people. A large window, which fills the room with light, gives access to a beautiful private walled courtyard with a small swimming pool of 2×3 meters and outdoor furniture.

The house has 5 bedrooms. One of the two bedrooms on the first floor has a terrace with hammocks and views of the courtyard.
On the third floor, there is a lovely large attic space with 2 trundle beds, plus another double bedroom with sliding door in an old arch.

All rooms have windows with beautiful views of the monumental buildings around the house.

The passageway house is the ideal place to enjoy a journey through time with family and friends, full of art and nature.

Old mansion with courtyard and swimming pool in the historic centre of Oropesa, one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Toledo. The views of the emblematic buildings surrounding the house take us on a journey into the past where we come across “el pasadizo”, the monument that gives its name to this beautiful property. Opposite the hospital and along the church street, we come across a construction formed by arches. Legend has it that the passageway was built by Don Fernando Álvarez de Toledo to connect the palace with the church, thus facilitating the arrival of his wife.

An impeccable architectural project that creates a warm and peaceful universe where green and brown colours predominate, as well as fabrics of different textures and prints. The 400-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets by Bassols, and the 100% organic cotton towels with a grammage of 650, delicately envelop us, transmitting calm, tranquillity and tranquillity.

Mountain air coming from the Sierra de Gredos. Smells of damp fields come from the Tajo, mixed with the incense of the convents and churches of Oropesa. An alchemy that fills our senses and allows our imagination to travel back in time as we connect with nature.

The gastronomy of Oviedo stands out for its intense flavours based on game and garden produce. Local recipes include rabbit with tomato and rosemary, and rice with hare. Roast meat is also popular, especially lamb.

Countryside, footsteps on the cobbled streets, bells, silence. An acoustic journey for the relaxation of the senses and disconnection.
