5 spectacular estates in which to love autumn

THOUSAND-YEAR-OLD MONASTERY IN PALENCIA 

We travel back in time to Palencia to discover this unique place, a sublime example of its architectural legacy. This Premonstratensian monastery dates back to the year 934, founded on a hermitage prior to the 9th century, according to the National Historical Archive of Spain.

The sensitivity of its restoration can be seen in every detail. With more than 1000 years of history, a new space has been reconstructed from ancient ruins, combining the past and the present with a concept of hospitality never seen before, an initiatory journey that transports us to the luxury of silence.

The estate of more than 18,000 square metres guarantees us to enjoy in total calm and privacy a fragment of history. It currently has 12 suites with their own personality. Its heated indoor swimming pool, open to the lush garden thanks to its large windows, with the added comfort of being able to enjoy it in the shelter of its large fireplace, its dreamy gardens and the nature activities available in the area make it the ideal retreat. EL CRESPO ESTATE

In the heart of La Mancha, it is a true hunting paradise. The main house is the Casón del Crespo, a unique manor house with 13 double rooms with en suite bathrooms, large living rooms and spectacular views thanks to its strategic location, on top of a hill from which you can contemplate part of the 8,000 hectares that surround it.

The Casa del Olivar is a later construction and follows the same architectural and aesthetic standards. It is a magnificent and comfortable one-storey country house where a large hall leads to the bedrooms, all of which are double and all of which have en-suite bathrooms. The common areas have an elegant formal dining room and comfortable lounges with fireplaces that give access to the porch with dining and lounge area. Exclusivity is the word that best defines this estate located in the municipality of Castellar de Santiago, in the province of Ciudad Real. Thousands of hectares of woodland and pastureland, an ecosystem that is particularly appreciated by the most demanding international hunters who come here every season. Comfort and convenience are at their best in this natural setting. The house, with its fifteen en-suite bedrooms, is rented out completely and the service team is fully dedicated to the service.

ESTATE IN CORDOBA

In the foothills of Cordoba’s Sierra Morena, between the municipalities of Almodóvar de Río and Posadas, it is bathed by the Breña reservoir and forms part of one of the most representative areas of the Andalusian Mediterranean forest.

In addition to organic pasture and livestock farming, there is also game management for the various species native to the area, such as deer, wild boar, roe deer and partridge. This rich diversity is completed by a carefully tended organic olive grove and its own olive oil mill, which produces one of the most awarded olive oils in the country.

The main house is a reinterpretation of the best architectural tradition that surpasses the classic Andalusian farmhouse. It revolves around an impressive courtyard with views over the Breña reservoir and the castle of Almodovar in the background. Surrounded by the adjoining galleries, the courtyard gives an unequalled light to the whole complex.
