The luxury of privacy in Haute-Corse. Camouflaged in the landscape
Description
Its earth tones and the flora that covers its roofs allow this fantastic villa, made up of several buildings, to blend in with the Mediterranean greenery of the Corsican hill on which it stands and from where it enjoys a unique view of the sea, the bay of Saint Florent, the town, its port and citadel. A dirt road suitable for motor vehicles gives direct access from the house to the coast and to one of the most charming villages in the north of Corsica. Cap Corse and the Agriates desert are two nearby natural enclaves that complete the idyllic panorama. Situated on a large estate, the house is accessed via a path lined with cypress and pine trees that are already captivating from the outside. A large 235 square metre swimming pool, which can be accessed from the inside, surrounds a panoramic terrace perfectly equipped to enjoy the sun and the scenery. The villa consists of a main building, a guest house and a caretaker’s house.
Wood and stone are the protagonists of the architecture, built on different levels to give dynamism and play with the terraces. Microcement, tiles and ceramics make up the interior finishes, which are complemented by Mediterranean-style decoration based on natural materials, such as cotton textiles, wrought iron furniture and accessories, light wood and natural fibres, enhancing warmth and comfort with light, relaxing tones.
Layout:
The main house, 500 m², consists of entrance hall, guest toilets, kitchen with island and dining area, pantry, laundry room, maid’s room with bathroom, a large living room, sitting room with fireplace, TV area and 4 air-conditioned master bedrooms with bathroom and different capacities: 2 with double bed and 2 with twin beds. At 70 m from the main house, there is the guest pavilion, of 140 square metres, which has a living room with TV, kitchen open to a large terrace, bedroom with double bed, 3 bedrooms with two single beds, three bathrooms and laundry room. It also has a large roof terrace from which to enjoy views of the sea and Cap Corse. The exterior of the house is paved in iroko wood, a material that is repeated in the pergola that protects the summer dining room. Barbecue and hard court tennis court complete the equipment. The house is located in the north-west of Corsica, in the bay of Saint Florent, 2 km from the village and the beach of Roya. Bastia airport is 30 minutes away and the ferry is 35 minutes away.
