Description
This old flour mill is located in the south of Spain, in the Malaga town of Manilva, on the western Costa del Sol, near Marbella. It is a three-storey building built at the beginning of the 8th century in the valley of Manilva and refurbished and reconditioned in 1996. It has 550 square metres of floor space and a capacity for 12 people. It was rebuilt to become a family home with whitewashed facades in a soft pink tone, windows with wrought iron railings and interiors of classic decoration. It has six bedrooms distributed between the main house and the guest cottage.
The house has been decorated by decorator Marina Fernández de Córdoba in a fresh rustic Andalusian style with touches of Mexico. Most of the furniture was inherited from the family castle in Malpica del Tajo as well as from the interior designer’s own collection. The carefully chosen interior design combines natural materials with a decoration composed of restored furniture upholstered in cotton and polychrome pieces as well as rustic details, made of quality materials, which give it a unique charm.
This magnificent house is surrounded by three hectares of spectacular gardens that are divided into different areas.
It has a 20-metre long private swimming pool amidst stunning vegetation, an Andalusian vegetable garden for aperitifs, a Japanese patio with a pool-like pond where you can dine or have breakfast al fresco.
Bedroom 1 is a presidential suite occupying the top floor of the main house with private access to the garden and pool, private terrace, fireplace, king size bed, en-suite bathroom, wardrobe, dressing room and fan. Bedrooms 2 and 3 have in common twin beds, shared bathroom, wardrobe and fan. Bedroom 4 has 3 beds, wardrobe and dressing room and en-suite bathroom with bathtub.
Finally, bedrooms 5 and 6, which are located in the guest cottage and have a private living room and half kitchen, have two beds, one of them queen size and en-suite bathrooms, and fans. The dining room has capacity for 12 people, and in addition to this indoor dining room there is an outdoor dining area. As for the living rooms: the main living room can seat up to 14 people and has an open fireplace; and the TV lounge can accommodate up to 8 people and also has a fireplace, cable TV, Smart TV and Netflix. The property is in an ideal location, surrounded by nature and with few neighbours around.
Nearby, just a 15 minute walk away, are the famous Roman baths of La Hedionda.
It is only 25 minutes from Marbella, 10 minutes from Sotogrande and 50 minutes from Malaga. From the motorway exit, the mill is 5 minutes away.It is available for celebrations such as events and weddings for which it has large outdoor spaces that can be adapted to each situation suggested by the guests.
