A 19th century mill immersed in the forest
Description
This village is located in a water mill dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, which was originally one of the two mills to which the inhabitants of the villages of Ventosilla and Tejadilla (Segovia) went to bring their harvest and obtain flour. It is located at the foot of the Sierra Norte de Guadarrama Natural Park, in a charming area surrounded by nature and villages with great heritage and cultural attractions. The gorges of the Duratón River, the Enebralejos caves, the gorges of the Riaza River, the Prádena holly oak grove and the Casla juniper grove are all places worth visiting.
This unique construction dates back to 1800 and has been renovated maintaining all the authenticity and charm of the old mill, but equipping it with all the comforts. The property offers absolute privacy and full immersion in nature, ideal for public personalities who value such seclusion. The house is set within a three-hectare estate, surrounded by a clean, flowing river with water all year round. The estate is surrounded by a beautiful 600-hectare forest of junipers, and you can go on walks and bike rides, horseback rides… The nearest village, Ventosilla, is 1.5 km away and has 16 inhabitants (5 km away there are villages with all services).
In the surrounding area you can visit medieval villages such as Sepúlveda and Pedraza and natural parks such as Hoces del río Duratón or Sierra de Guadarrama.
It has a surface area of 350 metres and a capacity for 10 people. The main house has 3 double rooms with single beds of 190 x 90 that in 2 of them can be joined with zip to form a king size double bed. It also has 2 shared bathrooms. The secondary house, a former loom, consists of 2 double rooms with single beds of 190 x 0.90 cm, one of which can be zipped together to form a double bed. Each room has its own bathroom. It also has a double sofa bed (190 x 140 cm) and an auxiliary bed of 190 x 75 cm. A baby cot is available on request. The main house has a spacious hall, living-dining room with fireplace, large fully equipped kitchen, 3 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
The auxiliary house is not rented separately and is only open if there are more than 6 people in the group. If the group is smaller, it remains closed. The front garden has about 1,500 square metres of lawn next to the river, with pergola with dining area and barbecue. The back garden, of about 2,000 square metres, is crossed by several streams and bridges. Next to the river there is also a well and an old cottage.
The decoration of the house follows a hygge style, intimate, natural and maintains all the flavour of the authentic, such as the exposed wooden beams and the sabina wood floors, without losing comfort.
The furnishings are heirloom and antique.The main way to get to the property is by car or rental car.The airport of Madrid is 1 hour away by car.
Activities include electric bicycle routes, stargazing, hiking and mountaineering, wild swimming, canoeing, caving, horse riding, skiing, hot air ballooning and paragliding.
The houses are equipped with all the comforts and the best qualities. They have heating, electricity, drinking water and WiFi (Network: depending on the house. Password for all: descansorural).The main house has a fireplace, landline telephone (free only for calls to national landlines.Calls to mobiles and abroad will be charged), TV, bluetooth linkable loudspeaker and multiple board games. Only the fireplace in the living room is usable, not the ones in the hall. The second house also has a TV.Please do not light the fireplace in this house for safety reasons.There is no 3G coverage in the houses, but there is in the upper part of the property.
The kitchen has been recently refurbished and is fully equipped.It has a fridge, dishwasher, oven, microwave, toaster, juice squeezer, Nespresso and Italian coffee machine, complete kitchenware, table linen, crockery and cutlery for 12 people.In one of the bathrooms there is a hairdryer, iron and spare toilet paper.There are cleaning products and for long stays, if requested in advance (more than 5 days), there is a washing machine and dryer in the storeroom.
Pets are allowed and the minimum stay is three nights.

In summer it is very pleasant to swim in the river next to the house, where the water is waist deep, and in spectacular natural pools 10-20 km away.
A walk through the forest of junipers, oaks and ash trees promises aromas that will immerse you in nature.
