Description
Burgundy is considered by many to be the heart of France. And this is probably true, because in few places in France do such French passions as gastronomy, confectionery and the cult of good wine converge in such a pronounced way. Nestled in the emerald countryside of Puisaye, two hours from Paris, is this Château whose pastel colours invite you to discover chateau life.
Nestled in a beautiful forest between agricultural plateaux, the present Château was built in 1875 on the foundations of an old manor house owned by the Duke of Nevers. Its more than 250 hectares offer a majestic garden, among which are hidden sublime ponds, woods and meadows. A place where history, architecture and landscape blend in perfect harmony thanks to its unique perspective, creating an intimate and magical atmosphere. Its heated outdoor swimming pool and tennis court are perfect places to create unforgettable moments. From there, you can enjoy a sunset that can be glimpsed through the colourful trees.
The Burgundy region is, in a nutshell, la belle France: bucolic landscapes, unparalleled cultural heritage and a land of wines. Thirty-six of the 50 most famous wines in the world come from this region, where the vines have been cultivated and the wines produced for centuries. Wine is almost a religion here, worshipped in underground cathedrals. There is nothing like rounding off a visit to this region with visits to traditional wineries, walking through fields of vines, and a wine tasting session with a sommelier to get to know all the extraordinary nuances.
But it’s not all about wine. The fame of the French cheese dairies as well as tasting their delicious pastries are experiences not to be missed.
Throughout Burgundy it is also possible to cycle from the banks of the Yonne to the banks of the Saône, and the more adventurous cyclists can take on the asphalt of the legendary Magny-Cours circuit.
Did you know that Burgundy has a thousand kilometres of waterways? Burgundy’s canals pass through medieval villages, wooded valleys and agricultural plains. You can travel along the famous Burgundy Canal or embark on the Nivernais Canal, considered to be one of the most beautiful in the country.
The villages along the wine route have remained untouched by the passage of time and retain a special charm, where it is a pleasure to stroll through their narrow streets, contemplate their stone façades and wooden beams adorned with geraniums. Here one imagines that the days go by marked by the rhythm of the crops and the simple life.

Burgundy is a region that reveals its charms when you sit down at the table: in the east of France, this region associated with its wine boasts the best (and most photogenic) gourmet routes in the country. The speciality is red meat, but also, of course, snails. This pearl of French gastronomy is one of its most delicate and subtle flavours, suitable only for demanding palates, and another local delicacy is eggs en meurette, cooked in a sauce made with wine, bacon and spices. A gastronomic paradise to be discovered.
