In the heart of the Pontevedra estuary, where the carballos and salgueiros weave landscapes of ancestral calm, stand these four wooden cabins, a project that goes beyond the conventional idea of rural accommodation. Here, nature is the protagonist of an experience designed to live in harmony with the environment.
Located in a strategic enclave in Marín, in the middle of the Pontevedra estuary, this accommodation is close to some of the most beautiful beaches on the Galician coast.
Its design bears the signature of the prestigious architect from Vigo, Alfonso Penela, a reference in the contemporary reinterpretation of Galician architecture, who has conceived these cabins under a premise as poetic as it is emphatic: each structure embraces a tree. A declaration of principles that translates into a design that respects the environment, enhances it and inhabits it without invading it.
The four huts, built mainly of locally sourced wood, blend soberly and elegantly into the landscape. The volumes, perfectly articulated, are governed by a compositional balance that allows natural light to flow, connecting interior and exterior in a continuous way.
Its commitment to the autochthonous distinguishes this refuge where every detail, from the materials to the structural solutions, has been carefully selected from local suppliers, guaranteeing a minimal impact on the environment and an aesthetic deeply rooted in the Galician identity.
With unparalleled views of the Atlantic and the constant whisper of the forest, the Xarás Cabins are not only a place to stay, but an invitation to inhabit nature with respect, beauty and awareness.
The resort offers accommodation for a total of 16 guests, spread across eight bedrooms within four separate cabins, each sleeping up to four people. The rooms include a king-size bed and a sofa bed, as well as air conditioning, wardrobe, shower, private terrace and access to Netflix. Bathrooms, although private in each cabin, are shared between occupants of the same unit.
Just a two-minute drive away is Lapamán Beach, with its calm waters and golden sand, ideal for a spontaneous getaway. If you prefer a stroll through the trees and sea breeze, just a 12-minute walk will take you to the secluded and charming beach of A Coviña. Nearby, just three minutes away by car, is the beach of Santo do Mar, another jewel of the estuary, perfect for bathing and relaxing.
The coastal offer expands on both sides. In the direction of Bueu, just 5 kilometres away, is Agrelo beach, easily accessible and only six minutes away by car. Towards Marín, in just seven minutes, you can reach the wide beaches of Aguete and Loira, two sandy areas with services and spectacular views of the Atlantic.
Just 12 kilometres away, the seaside town of Cangas is an unmissable destination: bustling, traditional and surrounded by endless beaches that dot both the Vigo and Aldán estuaries, with almost virgin spots and crystal-clear waters.
From the ports of Bueu or Cangas, travellers can embark towards one of Galicia’s most prized natural treasures: the Ons Islands.Both towns offer round-trip tickets to spend a full day on their wild beaches, trails and viewpoints. And if you want to discover the paradise of the Cíes Islands, all you have to do is go to the Cangas maritime station.Both are part of the Atlantic Islands Maritime-Terrestrial National Park, a protected environment of overwhelming beauty and unique biodiversity.
