Intimate lighthouse overlooking the ocean – Santa Cruz de la Palma

Also avaialble for: Filming and Events

Description

Lighthouses have always been hypnotic, almost magical places… located at the ends of the earth, at the ends of the world… a symbol of guidance and peace for navigators, guarded in the past by the guardians of the coast, lonely and anonymous heroes in extinction, called lighthouse keepers.
They served as a place of inspiration for writers such as Jules Verne, who wrote The Lighthouse at the End of the World.

Have you ever dreamt of sleeping in a lighthouse, or maybe you’ve wanted to experience the connection with nature that lighthouse keepers feel?

Well, we help you to fulfil both dreams on the island of La Palma, one of the most spectacular natural jewels of the Canary archipelago.

This unique property is exclusively open to the public, where you can relax listening to the swaying of the wind, the song of the seagulls and the crashing of the waves.

The Punta Cumplida lighthouse has panoramic views of the whole island, where guests, as well as staying in the lighthouse keeper’s old house, can enjoy breathtaking views by climbing the 158 steps that lead to the top of the lighthouse and contemplate the Atlantic Ocean, the island’s characteristic banana plantations or its immense green mountains, 35 metres above sea level.

There are sea views from any of the 3 suites, but we would like to highlight the Atlantic suite. This room has spectacular views of the water on both sides.

The walls of this house are made of the original volcanic stone and it has been recently refurbished with the utmost respect for its ancient construction, which preserves all its original attributes.

It has a unique central courtyard with a porch made of local tea wood, very rare to see and of great beauty. In this courtyard, sheltered from the sea, life goes on, oblivious to time… traditional Canarian architecture, which reminds us of a past with a colonial air. Ideal meeting point to enjoy the gastronomy and the best company.

One of the most spectacular places is the infinity pool built on volcanic rock where we can contemplate the strength of the sea and listen to the crashing of the waves. And at night these sounds will be a balm for sleep, making this experience a unique stay in Spain. A sensory journey to the ends of the earth.

The perfect place to disconnect from routine and reconnect with nature and yourself.

Looking for a place of inspiration?

Here you can live like a lighthouse keeper with all the comforts you can imagine.

Feel like a watchman of the sea for a few days. A real luxury.

The surroundings of this property will delight the most adventurous. We can swim in the infinity pool and feel the immensity of the great Atlantic Ocean where we can listen to the waves crashing against the volcanic rocks or climb to the top of the tower and see the green mountains or the typical Canarian banana plantations at 35 metres above sea level.

The cold, damp touch of the rocks with which the walls of the island were built in the past will make us feel more in touch with the true essence of the island of La Palma.

In any of its terraces and kitchens we can enjoy the most typical smells: the aroma of the gastronomy, the freshness of the sea and the fragrance or the balm of the barbecue fire.

Among the delicious Canarian dishes we can find rabbit in salmorejo, wheat stew or the famous potatoes with mojo. Simply delicious.

To lie back and enjoy reading with the whispers of the wind in the background, the scent of the sea breeze and the sounds of the waves crashing against the volcanic rocks is an experience for a privileged few. A sensory journey to the ends of the earth.
