This restored three-storey mansion was built during the first half of the 19th century and is included in the local architectural heritage. Located in Barrio Torrejón, Sobremazas-Medio Cudeyo, in Cantabria, it conserves the typical architectural elements of the area: on the façade, stone masonry, balcony over the main door, windows and balconies with white painted panes; and, inside, stone floor on the ground floor and wooden floorboards on the upper floors, whitewashed walls, friezes and wooden beams, columns and pillars. Sobremazas is a quiet village, close to Solares, known for its thermal water spa.
It has a surface area of 800 square metres and can accommodate 16 people, distributed in 8 bedrooms with 7 bathrooms and a toilet. It has three rooms per floor and has four double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and a holiday flat with three double bedrooms, located in the attic and equipped with living room, dining room and kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, ceramic hob and Nespresso coffee machine. Some rooms have garden and mountain views. The attic flat is very bright and spacious. One of the bedrooms has a sofa and coffee table and has views of the village and Peña Cabarga. There is the possibility of renting the entire property for events and family gatherings.
The decoration follows a classic style, with contemporary touches, composed of fine wood furniture and floral cretonne upholstery.
The 4,000 square metre private garden, enclosed by a stone wall, allows you to stroll and look out over the mountain views and is an ideal place for relaxation and as a starting point for a hiking trail. It has several living areas equipped with teak wood furniture to sit and enjoy the colours of agapanthus, hydrangeas and bougainvillea. There is a garage for three vehicles.
Close to Somo beach, the Cantabrian mountain range and the Solares spa.
Santander airport is 14 kilometres away and Solares train station is 2 kilometres away.
The property organises cultural and gastronomic visits and excursions in the area. Activities include surfing, trekking, golf, cycling, sailing and water sports. In the Solares spa (2 kilometres away) there are wellness services and massages in the Paloma Vidal beauty centre. For cultural activities, we recommend the Ramón Pelayo Cultural Centre (also in Solares) and the Botín Centre in Santander.
