This renovated house is a rustic retreat perched atop a hill in Callosa d’en Sarriá, a municipality in the north of the province of Alicante, located in the Marina Baja region. In the heart of a valley full of medlar, avocado and orange plantations, this rural environment is characterised by its tranquillity. It is close to enclaves full of natural beauty such as the village of Guadalest, the famous town of Altea and the waterfalls of Fonts d’Algar.
Refurbished by the studio of Antonio Roldán Arquitectura, the villa has a total surface area of 125 square metres, can accommodate up to 8 guests and consists of three bedrooms, living room, kitchen and two bathrooms. Outside, there are three large terraces.
The outdoor area is 15,000m2 and the land is planted with carob, avocado and orange trees. The house is decorated in a rustic style and incorporates traditional elements, all made in Spain, which are reflected both in the interior and exterior appearance of the house. The furniture, whitewashed walls and natural materials reign in all the rooms, which exude calm and tranquillity to guarantee guests’ rest. As for the provenance of the furniture, the owners were looking for a particular style and spent two years finding the right ones, many of them vintage. For this reason, there are a number of unique pieces, many of them from local flea markets and auction houses.
In one wing of the villa there are two bedrooms, which connect through a wide corridor to a bathroom with toilet and rain shower. One of the bedrooms has a king-size double bed (180 x 200 m), and the other has two single beds (90 x 200 m), which can be placed together if desired.
All three bedrooms are equipped with large fitted wardrobes and air conditioning and dimmable lighting. The house has heating and air conditioning, as well as a private saltwater swimming pool and patio.
As for the main routes to the property, it is a 5 minute drive from the village of Callosa d’en Sarriá and Alicante airport is about 50 minutes away by car.
Among the activities that can be done in the surroundings, you can visit several beautiful villages such as Guadalest and Altea which can be reached in 20 minutes.The beaches of Albir and Calpe, for example, are also only 20 minutes away by car.Furthermore, the waterfalls of Fonts d’Algar are worth a visit and there are beautiful hiking trails, for example in the Bernia mountains.In the village of Callosa d’en Sarriá (5 minutes by car) there are several supermarkets and shops and also numerous recommendable restaurants in the area, which can be reached quickly and easily.
Pets and smokers are not allowed. The property has a washing machine and dryer and the kitchen is at guests’ disposal.
