“Lumière de l’Âme” by REMED, from March 2 to 27

ART U READY celebrates its tenth anniversary by returning to its origins: REMED, the first artist to exhibit on the platform, inaugurates this new cycle.

Over the past ten years, ART U READY has established itself as a platform for selecting, supporting, and promoting talent, anticipating careers that now resonate within the international art scene. The artists who have participated in this program have developed solid and visible careers, ranging from public art installations and collaborations with leading brands and institutions to exhibitions in cultural capitals such as New York, Paris, and Milan. Returning to REMED brings us full circle and reaffirms a founding intuition: to identify talent at its source, to consistently support it, and to celebrate its consolidation without losing sight of its essence.

“La Lumière de l’Âme” is a worldview, a way of understanding how the world is organized and what place humankind occupies within it. REMED’s work connects with collective memory and a shared consciousness that situates us as part of a whole. In her visual universe, a unique territory is configured where a sensitive order emerges: a system of meaning revealed through an intimate, coherent, and recognizable language throughout her work. This vision is built from the origin. Woman appears as a primordial archetype, a creative principle. The body is presented as the threshold where life begins and as a sphere of containment where consciousness dwells and temporarily interacts with matter before returning to the origin. Woman is the source: the place where the beginning resides. In her, the memory of life is concentrated.

It is not merely a body offered to the gaze, but a symbolic structure, a temple that houses thought, emotion, and memory. More earthly concepts such as beauty, desire, and intimacy meet the depths of the soul. From this essential core, thought becomes conscious, not as an abstract idea, but as energy that expands and connects the intimate with the universal. Cognition and the perception of possible interactions with the universe are born. Body and thought converge. Matter sustains; consciousness illuminates. The human is recognized as part of a greater order, where the individual and the other are not separate, but rather form part of the same unity.

REMED’s work exerts an immediate and profoundly stimulating magnetism on the viewer. Initially, we are drawn to the color and the sensuality of the forms of his figures. As we delve deeper into his creations, we begin to appreciate the harmony, becoming captivated by the beauty of the scene and able to imagine the context and the timeless narrative. In his compositions, he eliminates any architectural distractions, focusing on the act itself, which further invites the viewer’s imagination.

In some of her works, symbolic parallels with Old Masters appear. She reinterprets references such as Ingres’s “Le Bain Turc” or “Le Bain de Diane” in Palma le Vieux, where the female body is gathered away from any external gaze. The choral arrangement of the figures and the use of color allude to a tradition that, influenced by Gauguin’s legacy in works like “Where Do We Come From,” is transformed here into a more symbolic presence, closer to song and inner landscape than to the original historical scene. In these interpretations, there is an aura of mystery that transforms a shared and intimate everyday act into something extraordinary.

The presence of the sea permeates this vision. Since settling in Cantabria, water has become essential to his work: a metaphor for the flow of life, for permanence, and for change. The sea acts as a reflection of consciousness and collective memory, a space where forms merge. Matter and spirit, depth and surface, silence and movement.

Painter, sculptor, and poet, REMED’s work is articulated as a manifesto of hope. His practice appeals to a conscious vision of the world, where “Love” acts as a guiding thread and unifying principle. Omnipresent, humble, and essential, “Love” does not intoxicate: it illuminates. “It is true, it is here. It is the other, and it is me.”

This exhibition offers a spiritual perspective in its highest sense: an interconnected reality where everything is related. A field of experience where art acts as a bridge between who we are and that which transcends us.

Beauty is the revelation of a profound order that has always resided within us.

We are part of a whole.

ABOUT REMED

REMED (Guillaume Alby) is a French artist born in Paris in 1978 and based in Suances, Cantabria, Spain. His work lies at the intersection of the figurative and the abstract, the mathematical and the spiritual. His practice seeks a universal visual language, constructed from simple forms, organic lines, and vibrant colors that engage with both classical tradition and ancestral symbols.

Coming from the world of graffiti and urban art, REMED has developed over time a highly personal and unmistakable style, where geometry, calligraphy, and symbolic narrative intertwine to address essential questions such as life and death, duality, and harmony. His work, influenced by Islamic art and mathematical proportions, uses these systems as a structure to create pieces that function as maps of thought and human experience.

Each work, from murals in public spaces to large-format canvases, is conceived as an attempt to reveal the world’s profound order through simplicity, rhythm, and form. For REMED, art is not merely an aesthetic matter, but an act of the soul and mind, a connection between the inner and outer worlds.

Although his studio output is increasingly extensive, he maintains a strong presence in the urban environment, where he intervenes experimentally with philosophical messages and calligraphy, often created with chalk on city walls. In this gesture, art becomes a form of healing, a public therapy directed outward.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, and her signature can be found on murals across four continents. She has participated in solo and group exhibitions worldwide and has developed significant educational work, notably her work at the Children’s Museum of the Arts in New York in 2011.
