Contemporary architecture on the Ría de Ares
What if tonight you stayed in a house with over 400 years of history, renovated by an award-winning architect?
In the north of A Coruña, facing the mouth of the Ferrol estuary and surrounded by the natural beauty of Chanteiro, Casa de los Ingenieros awaits you—a place to stay with soul, history, and views that make you want to stop time.
A historic home reclaiming its place in the region after more than a century of silence. Very close to the fishing village of Ares and the picturesque town of Redes, the house emerges between the sea and the greenery as a serene refuge, steeped in memory.
Built in 1892, the current renovation rescues that legacy through a contemporary, sensitive, and precise approach, capable of breathing new life into it without altering its essence. The project is structured around light as a building material. The original large openings, reinterpreted with dark frames, frame the exterior as if it were a sequence of living landscapes. The sea and the forest visually penetrate every room, establishing a constant relationship between interior and exterior. Atlantic light flows through the spaces and activates a delicate dialogue between memory, calm, and modernity.
A destination to breathe, stroll, discover the Galician coast, and let yourself be carried away by the calm. If you’re looking for a special vacation in Galicia, surrounded by the sea, nature, and architecture with character, Casa de los Ingenieros is the place you’ll want to return to.

A circular house for sleeping under the stars
In the Matarraña region, often referred to as the “Spanish Tuscany,” on a 100-hectare estate surrounded by nature where one feels magically secluded, we find a spectacular fusion of art and architecture.
This house was designed with no boundaries between interior and exterior; its facade opens up completely, making it possible to sleep under the stars here. Nestled within the landscape, at its center lies a natural pool that resembles a lake. Invisible architecture that blends into the forest, challenging all conventions.
As an anecdote, when surveying the land, the architects had to walk around the plot in a circle because they came across a beehive… this experience inspired them to create a circular house. Each module of this house is independent from the other rooms, which are accessed from its outdoor patio/porch. Its interior is functional yet comfortable, with minimal decoration so as not to distract from the intended experience.

A seaside home where “it’s always summer”
The Cliff House in one of the most beautiful villages on Granada’s Costa Tropical. The Cliff House is a dream come true for architects Jaime Bartolomé and Pablo Gil, the creators of this exclusive project, as “they dreamed of a house facing the sea where it was always summer.”
The inspiration comes from a dragon’s scales. Thus, situated on a hill with a 42-degree slope facing the Mediterranean Sea, it was built with a metal roof that evokes the animal’s scales and a minimalist design inside. One last detail of this extraordinary home to fall in love with? The view from the pool is a dream.
A unique design that was chosen by the BBC as one of the world’s most extraordinary homes. It is also featured in the documentary @worldsmostextraordinaryhomes, available on Netflix.

Minimalism in Comporta with the sound of the sea
In Setúbal, in a fishing village, in this peaceful villa where you can hear the sound of the waves from the terrace.
Contemporary architecture featuring a flat roof, large windows, and cubic and geometric forms. The interior design is dominated by white walls and designer furniture, with white walls and sand-colored polished concrete floors.
The common areas—living room, dining room, and kitchen—share a single open-plan space that opens to the outdoors through large sliding doors, bringing the dune landscape into the home and offering breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery.
The tranquility of this picturesque setting allows you to hear the waves and the silence as the birds bid farewell to the sunset with their songs. With the beach just a few steps away, you can step out of the villa barefoot to feel the softness of the sand beneath your feet.
