Six places where brunch is always a great plan
The places that have made brunch the favorite (and most fashionable) weekend plan in Madrid.
If there’s one thing Madrid loves more than Sunday beers, it’s brunch. That magical moment between breakfast and lunch that smells of specialty coffee, perfect toast, juicy pancakes, and laughter with friends without watching the clock. In the capital, brunch is no longer a passing fad, but almost an urban weekend sport: eating well, without rushing, and in style.
In recent years, places have sprung up that have become the place to be for foodies, influencers, and lovers of slow mornings. From classic options with eggs Benedict to more coffee-based offerings, the brunch scene in Madrid is more alive than ever.
We’ll tell you about the trendy brunches that you can’t miss; charming places with succulent menus and that extra bit of personality that makes them ideal for starting the day off right (and ending it with a desire to repeat). Get ready to take a stroll through Norah Coffee, Carmencita Brunch, El Gordito, Billy Brunch, Coco Social House, and Natif; six very appealing stops on Madrid’s gastronomic map.
NORAH COFFEE
Norah Coffee is one of those places that understands brunch as it should be: unhurried, with good coffee and dishes that look appetizing from the first glance. Here, you don’t have to wait until Sunday to enjoy brunch, because their menu works just as well any day of the week, making it a regular haunt for coffee lovers and late breakfasters.
Its strong point is clear: specialty coffee, carefully prepared, accompanied by a menu that balances sweet and savory. Well-made toast, comforting options, and recipes designed to be enjoyed without complications make it easy to come back for more… and order “one more” to extend the morning.
On our visit, we started with an intense and flavorful Shakshuka, perfect for kicking off the morning. The favorite, without a doubt, was the Salmon Benedict, balanced, tasty, and absolutely addictive. We finished off brunch with the Avocado Royal, a delicate, surprising dish full of nuances.
The atmosphere is just right: bright, quiet, and with that modern yet welcoming feel that invites you to meet up with friends or sit alone with your laptop and a steaming cup of coffee. Norah Coffee doesn’t try to be excessive or spectacular, and that’s precisely where its charm lies: an honest, well-executed brunch that’s perfect for those days when a late breakfast is simply the best plan.

It’s not an excessive or pretentious brunch, but one of those plans that are perfect for meeting up with friends or for an impromptu late breakfast.
Coco Social House has earned its popularity through consistency and a great atmosphere. There’s always something going on, coffee is always flowing, and there’s always someone lingering a little longer than planned. And that, in Justicia, is half the battle.

El Gordito has earned its place through consistency and good work. It doesn’t seek to reinvent brunch, but to do it well, which is no small feat. And perhaps that’s why it’s one of those places you always return to when a late breakfast is, quite simply, the plan.

CARMENCITA BRUNCH
It is, without exaggeration, one of Madrid’s great brunch classics. A place you return to again and again because brunch is taken very seriously here: hearty dishes, familiar flavors, and a lively atmosphere that makes it clear you’re in one of the busiest spots on the weekend.
The menu is exactly what you expect and want when you think of brunch: eggs Benedict in different versions, fluffy pancakes, hash browns, and generously topped toast. Everything is designed to leave you rolling out the door… and happy.
Carmencita also has that lively, carefree vibe that fits perfectly with Malasaña: crowded tables, overlapping conversations, and a constant energy that turns any morning into a social event. It’s not a quiet, peaceful brunch; it’s one of those places where you come to enjoy yourself, share dishes, and accept that the wait is worth it. Because if one thing is clear, it’s that Carmencita is still synonymous with brunch in Madrid.
