Colonisation villages, humanised architecture
Caniche Editorial has perpetrated three ephemeral exhibitions and has published 15 books this year, a year in which this production company has been in existence for eight years. Like the dog that gives them their name, this independent project stands on four legs and adapts like a glove to each context or artist with the aim of sniffing out little-known authors they consider worth discovering.
An appointment with Lucía Mendoza, the gallery owner behind ISLA, an acronym for Ideario de Sostenibilidad y Laboratorio de Arte, a personal project born with the intention of seeking alternatives to the climate and ecological emergency through the visual arts in the Sierra Oeste de Madrid, in Robledo de Chavela.
We talked to the architect, an expert in urbanism and urban planning, about the challenges of this little-known but no less important discipline. For Rodríguez Montejano, architecture is a public service, a tool for building a city not only from the aesthetic point of view, but also from what cannot be seen.

This summer Ibiza is once again the epicentre of contemporary art thanks to CAN Art Fair, which is being held for the second year running and brings together the latest in contemporary creation and hosts up to 37 galleries and more than 100 artists from Hong Kong, Sydney, London and Los Angeles. Directed by Sergio Sancho, cultural manager and founder of Urvanity, it is curated by the critic Saša Bogojev and brings together prominent international collectors from 12 to 16 July. ART U READY returns during ARCO week with the artistic duo ELIURPI, formed by Elisabet Urpí and Nacho Umpiérrez. "Retratos circulares" delves into the most intimate side of the artists. We will be able to see their new sculptural and pictorial creations, and also their first book "ELIURPI", where they incorporate photography as an artistic discipline as well as the creation of some pieces of furniture.
